It’s the first Christmas for Becky Montgomery without her ex-husband, and also without her oldest two children who have plans out of state, leaving only her and her moody goth daughter Gina, along with Gina’s new pierced and tattooed boyfriend Chance--to celebrate the holidays. Becky’s old traditions may have died--but not as fatally as Kirk Kinser, the comptroller of the charity Becky usually volunteers for during the holidays. Kirk's murder investigation reveals he’d been embezzling funds and the foundation may go under because of it, spoiling the holiday. The director begs Becky to help, and she reluctantly agrees, and finds there’s more happening at this charity organization than good will. Becky involves the other Bad Mothers (Teresa, Sam, and newly inducted and reluctantly pregnant Dr. Priscilla Presley Pierce)--along with the exceptional hacking talents of Chance--to figure out where the missing money is hidden in order to save Christmas from a very Grinch-like murderer.
